We are sure you will agree when we say right after the marriage things are fun, romantic, and passionate, but over time it seems as if the light has become dim a little bit.

You start to wonder if your spouse is still in love with you. Both wife and husband take turns falling in and out of love with each other as they start to go through the different stages of marriage. Read further if you want to learn how to make your partner fall in love with you again.

It is important to understand the phase of marriage the two of you are currently in. There are three main stages to focus on which we will call the endearment, adjustment, and commitment stages.

Endearment Stage – This is the stage that every new marriage enters into. You put your partner before all other things and you let him know daily how amazing he/she is and how much you appreciate him/her. During this stage, you are all over each other and cannot get enough of each other; however, it gets old quick and the stage comes to an end after only a brief period of time.

Adjustment Stage – This is the stage where a lot of marriages come to an abrupt end. You find out that your partner has some annoying habits that you never knew about. As a result of all of the “adjustments” that are taking place in this stage, a lot of arguing occurs. The couple starts to wonder if this is what they want to deal with for the rest of their lives and they start to drift apart a little bit. This is the most difficult of the three stages and is the one that lasts the longest, but if the couple makes it through this stage the rest of the marriage is a cake walk.

Commitment Stage – In this stage the wife and husband are fully committed to each other. They have decided to deal with the adjustments that needed to be made, and are determined to make the marriage work for the rest of their lives. This stage is a lot smoother and very few arguments take place, because both of you have decided to live with each other’s imperfections and short comings and you both know how to choose your battles.

Now turning our focus back to the core topic – how to make your partner fall in love with you. You have to turn the attention of your spouse’s wandering eyes back to you. Here are a few tips on how to go about it.

Hold hands.

At first you might not feel comfortable and you might even be shy in public because you are not used to this, but this is romance and is intimate. We use to hold our partner’s hand when we first started dating — why did we stop? No excuse is good enough because there are couples out there that have been together for many years and are still holding hands. If your partner feels funny or uncomfortable, talk to him/her.

Share information with your spouse.

There are couples that don’t even talk to each other anymore, or when they do is only talks of money, kids, and schedule. Take the time to ask your spouse how their day was. If they are hesitant to share information and just answer with a mere fine, start the conversation. Tell them something that happened at your job or around the house. This builds not only a bond but trust, reassurance, and also ensures that there are no secrets in the relationship.

Be kind to one another.

Relationships that have lasted for a while tend to fall into habits and tricks, you get to know your partner’s likes and dislike and so you know what they hate the most, what hurts their feelings, what makes them cry, or laugh. Some partners take advantage of this and decide to use this against one another. Do not insult each other whether in public or in the privacy of the house. Take time and say nice things to your partner. Call them sweetie, honey, baby, and tell them how good they smell or anything that is kind and tender. This will make your partner feel love and will in turn make them treat you the same way.

Plan a vacation.

Sometimes we just need to get away and go vacation with our partners. Family, too much work, stress in the relationship, worries about bills or kids can also affect the relationship. Find a romantic getaway even if you are taking the kids with you. Drink some champagne, listen to soft music, and light some candles. Romance is the key to staying in love.

Renew your vows.

Relive the moment of when the two of you decided to become one and you can even make it better this time. When renewing your vows, you don’t have to have a big celebration with all the friends. It can be a small family and close friends’ celebration. The important thing this time around is creating your own vows.

Hygiene is important for romance.

There is nothing worse than cuddling at night time with your partner only to find out they don’t smell so good and then the moment is ruined.

Write love letters.

On Valentine’s Day, skip the teddy bear or chocolates, or tie, or whatever it is you buy your husband or wife and get a card with a beautiful design in the outside. Sit down and think about all the things you like about your husband or wife, think about what made you fall in love with him or her and write it down in a piece of paper, then think about something you want to say to your love one.

Turn off the TV for the whole evening. Spend time with her doing something, anything. Play a board game, go for a walk, talk, or cuddle.

What is something that she does every day? You may share the chores, so today pick something that she always does and do it without saying anything or making note of it. Then wait and see what happens.

Rub her feet, shoulders, and hands. And don’t try to use that as a means of getting somewhere else. Just do it for the sake of being a comforter and letting her take a load off.

Look into her eyes, and let her know that nothing else matters, nothing else will distract you this evening from her.

Turn off your cell phone and the computer. I know, this kind of goes along with the TV thing, but there are a lot of other distractions. Your email and facebook will still be there tomorrow.

Do something physical, like playing tennis. Physical activity has a profound effect on your well-being. It stimulates mental activity, endorphins (which make you feel better), and it is also an aphrodisiac.

Tomorrow start your day with having breakfast and coffee together. Be genuinely interested in your partner and show a lot of love. Remember, what goes around comes around.
